After months of price slashing, the Virgin store in Union Square has finally discovered what people will pay for a CD - $2 to $4. Anything that is not permanently attached to the building is for sale at 70 to 90 percent off and the place was packed with people carrying ten-high stacks of CDs and DVDs when I swung by on Thursday. It’s all over either tomorrow or Monday, the countdown signs were not clear.

Now that the Midwest economy is crap and entertainment is the one industry that actually does better in a recession, Greg’s flair and love for song have finally paid-off. Bushwick’s aflutter for Open Studios and everyone wanted iced coffee. Apparently Kenny Scharf has a studio here now, though it didn’t make the list. I’ll fuck with the new mini-golf course on Wyckoff Ave, but not today. UPDATE: Jerk says she went to Kenny’s space back in September for that sex party she told me about, the one where dudes in day-glo were jerking each other off in the doorway and Kenny said, “this is where the guys try to rip each other’s dicks off!” She didn’t mention the ‘cosmic cavern’ because it “just looked like Rubulad,” no big deal.

Jerk designed the flyer which I think looks old-timey and occultish, like we’re screening surrealist films on the set of Carnivale (oh wait, nobody remembers that show).
